Who knew that once our contract was accepted, the stress would really start? I thought the hard part was finding the house! That joke was on me. There are so many more steps to buying your home after you find it.
The next step in my home purchase was to make sure the house was in good shape. My agent set up to have an inspector meet me at the house yesterday and look over every inch of it. When I arrived, he was up on the roof. He checked every window, the siding, the deck, the gas meter, the air conditioner units–and that was just outside. Once inside, he looked in places I would have never thought. He ran the whirlpool tub, the dishwasher, tested every faucet, showers, and the washer & dryer. He checked the outlets, walls, flooring, light fixtures. I must admit, I felt much better having a professional look over the house.

Every Monday night, the Five Spot in heart of Little Five Points host a free music concert. From May thru October, the Chastain Park Civic Association (CPCA) has been providing the Chastain Chill. A free concerts every Tuesday in the playground area of Chastain Park, this provides free music in a family oriented atmosphere from 4 pm – 7 pm every Tuesday from now until October. As the CPCA say it, “Bring a picnic and a blanket and come chill with family after a long day at Chastain Park!”
The Annual Slotin Folk Art Fest also known as the Folk Fest is celebrating it’s sweet 16th this weekend, August 14 – 16, 2009. Taking place for 3 days, this festival has become known for unique folk style artwork, pottery and even antiques from various self-taught artist throughout the United States. The festival always kicks off with a Meet the Artist Party Friday night in which admission gets you into the festival all 3 days and gives you a free t-shirt. If you love art, then this is a festival you don’t want to miss.
