The City of Decatur,  Georgia has it’s own Decatur 101 classes. With the tagline “A Great Way to Get to Know Your City”,  these classes were designed with Decatur residents in mind to  offer the chance for residents to get to know the city, the people behind the city and how the city works. Through this free program offer, the City of Decatur hopes to increase the number of informed and involved citizens in Decatur and to “put a face” on local government, making them more accessible to the community. Topics of the classes vary and cover history, development, budget, boards and commissions, and volunteer opportunities.
