Getting to the Festival From Talley Street Lofts

In case you missed our previous post, the yearly Decatur Barbeque Festival happens this Saturday, August 15, 2009. Officially known as the Decatur Barbecue Blues & Bluegrass Festival, this Atlanta event takes place in Harmony Park of the Oakhurst area. Less than 2 miles from Talley Street Atlanta lofts, the best way to get to the festival is to walk a block from Talley Street lofts in Atlantaand hop on the train at the Avondale MARTA Station. Go East 2 stops and get off at the East Lake MARTA Station which is about a half a mile from Harmony Park. Once you are at East Lake station, exit to College Avenue which is the south side of the station. Go across the parking lot to the East Lake Drive and Park Place intersection. Follow East Lake south into Oakhurst. You are sure to hear the music and smell the delicious barbecue local vendors will be serving up. If you decide the half mile is not worth walking from the East Lake station, you can always catch a ride on a pedicab by Easy Living Pedicabs for a $5 charge.
