Decatur Beer Festival
This Saturday, October 16 is the annual Great Decatur Craft Beer Festival 2010. Taking place in the heart of downtown Decatur, Georgia, this annual 21 or older beer event will feature the latest and greatest in craft beer offerings as well as local favorites. Tickets are sold out so if you missed out this year, look out for them to next year’s event.

Georgia Apple Festival
Featuring North Georgia’s apples in every way you may like them, this annual festival attracts thousands of visitors every year. This event is held in North Georgia at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds in Ellijay, Georgia.

This coming Saturday, September 11, 2010 is the 15th annual Dragon Boat Festival being held at Lake Lanier’s Olympic Venue. Conducted by Hong Kong Information Center in Atlanta, local and international teams gather at this festival to race a dragon boat down the water lane. There are different categories to race in including: Open, BCS (Breast Cancer Survivors), Collegiate, High School, International, Recreational, Laotian, Financial, and Law Firms. Some participants in the past have included: AJC International, AT&T, The Home Depot, Merrill Lynch, Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club, National Association of Chinese Americans, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, Emory, University of Georgia, Agnes Scott, Perimeter College and more.
This Labor Day weekend 2010 brings a holiday weekend ususally with an extra day off for most corporate workers these days. This weekend also brings the annual Decatur Book Festival. Sponsored by the AJC and claimed to be the largest independent book festival in the nation, the Decatur Book Festival offers 3 days of books, book authors, activities, special book related events and more. This is a great family event made to be fun and educational for all ages.
